Short version.
We use the minimum information needed to run accounts, save recipes, support sharing, provide paid membership and keep the service safe. We do not sell personal information. We do not operate advertising or analytics in the current test build.
1. Controller and scope
Smart Business Solutions (“SBS”, “we”, “us”) provides Smart Meal Shelf. For the Smart Meal Shelf consumer service, SBS is the controller of personal information described here. Contact us at info@smart-businesssolutions.com; our service is operated from the United Kingdom. This notice applies to the Smart Meal Shelf Android app and service pages, including recipe.smart-businesssolutions.com.
The current Android internal-test build does not yet have working email accounts, cloud recipe storage, list sharing, payment fulfilment, ads or analytics. The sections below describe the service when the corresponding feature is switched on. We will update this notice and the applicable Google Play disclosure before a material change.
2. Information we may use
- Account information: email address, account ID, sign-in and password-reset records, security events and preferences.
- Recipe information: recipes, ingredients, instructions, times, lists, favourites, notes, images or links that you choose to save.
- Sharing information: list names and contents, an invited user’s email address, membership role and access history. People with access to a shared list can see its shared content.
- Import information: a recipe webpage or public social-post link, or text that you deliberately share to Smart Meal Shelf. We do not ask for a social-media password or access private posts.
- Membership and support information: lifetime-membership status, payment reference and customer email supplied by the payment provider, plus support correspondence. We do not receive or store full card details.
- Technical and security information: IP address, browser or device details, app version, request logs and error/security records required to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service.
3. Why we use it and our lawful bases
We use account, recipe and sharing information to provide the service you request and perform our contract with you. We use security logs and limited account-administration information for our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing misuse and resolving faults. We retain records where necessary for legal obligations, including financial and tax records. Where consent is required, such as for non-essential storage or access technologies, we ask for it separately and you can withdraw it.
4. Sources, sharing and transfers
Most information comes from you. We may receive invite information from a list owner and payment status information from Stripe when you use its hosted checkout. We use service providers only where necessary for hosting, authentication, storage, security, support and payment processing. Stripe processes payment-card information under its own privacy information. Providers may process information outside the UK; where a restricted transfer applies, we will use an appropriate lawful safeguard.
5. Retention, rights and decisions
Our retention schedule is on the Data Retention page. You can exercise access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability rights through the UK GDPR and Data Rights page. Smart Meal Shelf does not make decisions about you solely by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
6. Children and changes
Smart Meal Shelf is not directed at children under 13. See our Children’s Privacy Notice. We will publish the current version of this notice here and update the date when practices change.
