Account deletion

A clear route to request deletion of an SBS account or personal data.

Effective: 13 October 2026  •  Last reviewed: 13 October 2026

Request deletion

Choose the route that best matches your request: Delete account or Delete data request. This page remains the policy overview and external account-deletion route for future SBS mobile apps.

What to include

  • the email address used for the account;
  • the SBS system concerned, for example Events, ATS or Pricing;
  • the organisation name, if the account is linked to one; and
  • whether you want the account closed, your personal data erased where applicable, or both.

Please do not send passwords, copies of identity documents or sensitive information by email unless we specifically and securely ask for it.

What happens next

  1. We acknowledge the request and take proportionate steps to verify identity and authority.
  2. Where the account is controlled by an organisation, we may need to route the request to that organisation or confirm its instructions, because it may be the data controller.
  3. We explain the action we can take, complete the request where it is valid, and confirm the outcome.

When deletion may be limited

We may need to retain limited information where required or permitted by law, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, protect security, or meet an organisation’s documented instructions. Where deletion is not possible, we will explain why and restrict use where appropriate.

For normal inactive records, our baseline retention periods are set out in the Data Retention Policy: ATS applicant records and Events attendee records are generally retained for 12 months; staff and administrator accounts for 3 years; and uploaded documents for 12 months, each counted from the most recent meaningful activity unless an exception applies.

Other privacy requests

You can also ask for access, correction, restriction or information about the handling of your personal data. See the Privacy Policy for full contact details and your rights.
